This morning, as is tradition, the pilgrims who set out last night from the Church of the Rosary in Nuoro arrived at the Sanctuary of San Francesco di Lula. Among them was a special pilgrim: Maurizio Podda of Macomer, who completed the entire journey in a wheelchair thanks to the help of many volunteers and the Samassi Green Cross, completing what has been called the first pilgrimage of people with disabilities.

Among those welcoming him at the sanctuary was Francesco Calledda, known to all as Zigheddu, 87 years old and an 85-time participant in the Camino de San Francesco. Zigheddu gave Maurizio Podda a Camino di Bonaria T-shirt.
