Approximately fifty new officers have been assigned to the Nuoro Police Headquarters and the provincial police stations. This long-awaited reinforcement will strengthen the workforce and at least partially offset retirements and transfers that have reduced the presence of personnel in the area in recent years.

The provincial secretariat of the SIAP in Nuoro expressed satisfaction with the assignments, also highlighting the union's work at the regional level to urge the Department of Public Safety to strengthen its workforce: " This is an important signal for the province of Nuoro , which we welcome, while also recognizing that this strengthening process must continue in the years to come."

Among the new arrivals is an officer with a unique story. She's Cristina Pippia , originally from Bonarcado , assigned to the Bitti Highway Patrol. Three days ago, Pippia completed the 233rd Student Officer Course at the Peschiera del Garda School, distinguishing herself with an act of extreme altruism and courage.

During her training, she intervened to save a man who had accidentally fallen into the Mincio River. For that gesture, Pippia was formally awarded a commendation during the ceremony where the 3,133 probationary officers were presented with their braids.

For SIAP, Cristina Pippia's return to Sardinia is "a source of particular pride. Not only because of the strengthening of our staff, but also because of the symbolic value of a young agent who, even during her training, demonstrated concern for those in need, embodying the values of altruism, courage, solidarity, and a spirit of service that make our institution great."
