Twenty-five out of 35 irregular workers were inspected, seven of whom were completely undeclared, and fines of over 30,000 euros were imposed.
This is the result of the inspections conducted by the Carabinieri in the province of Nuoro over the last two months.
The inspections were carried out by members of the Carabinieri Labor Inspectorate, along with the Provincial Command and in collaboration with the Territorial Labor Inspectorate, with the aim of combating undeclared work and ensuring compliance with workplace safety regulations.
Specifically, 14 companies were inspected in Nuoro, San Teodoro, Budoni, Tortolì, Arbatax, Baunei, and Santa Maria Navarrese, primarily operating in the construction and public services sectors. All of the businesses inspected revealed irregularities, both contractually and in terms of safety.
Of the 35 workers inspected, 25 were found to be illegal due to violations related to their employment contract, while 7 were found to be completely undeclared, without a contract or social security or insurance coverage.
Particular attention was paid to construction sites, where several critical issues emerged: workers without medical examinations, a lack of compliant personal protective equipment, and the use of non-compliant equipment. In public establishments, however, the presence of illegally employed personnel was discovered. The identified violations led to the imposition of administrative and criminal fines totaling over €30,000, in addition to the recovery of approximately €3,500 in social security and insurance contributions.
