Trapped on the roof where he had climbed to make repairs, it happened yesterday in Nuoro, on Via Tempio, where an 86-year-old man was rescued by police and firefighters.

The emergency number was notified at 6:00 PM, when a resident reported a man in obvious distress on the roof of a house. Officers rushed to the scene and gained access to the roof through a manhole, where they found the elderly man, who had climbed up to investigate the source of some water leaks in the house.

The man had been taken ill, was practically immobilized and terrified. The police calmed him down and secured him, awaiting the arrival of the firefighters, who, using a ladder truck and a basket, rescued him. Once brought to shore, the elderly man was handed over to medical personnel for checks.
