Further disruptions to the water supply in Nuoro. This morning, a sudden burst in the aqueduct left hundreds of families without water in the area between Viale Costituzione, Via Olbia, Viale della Resistenza, and the areas between Viale Repubblica and Viale Costituzione, one of the city's most populous neighborhoods.

The service suspension occurred without warning to users. Only around 9:00 AM did Abbanoa send an email, explaining that the interruption was due to a sudden breakdown and that service would remain suspended until 1:30 PM. In recent years, the distribution of the network has been modified precisely to try to limit the extent of disruption in the event of breakdowns. A breakdown that in the past could have had cascading consequences across much larger portions of the city can now be limited to a more limited number of areas by dividing the network into districts.

However, the frequency of unexpected closures and breaks and, above all, the timeliness of notifications to users remain a problem. Numerous residents of Nuoro are reporting disruptions and complaining that they only learned of the outage after their taps ran dry. The issue, therefore, is not only the duration of the interruption, but also the ability of residents, families, and businesses to be informed in time, so they can organize their activities and minimize disruption. The situation should return to normal by 1:30 PM, according to Abbanoa, barring any unforeseen events related to the network repairs.
