Nughedu Santa Vittoria loses its centenary: goodbye to Mariangela Berritta
He had celebrated his 102nd birthday on February 1stNughedu Santa Vittoria , a small village in Barigadu , loses its more than 100 years old. Today, at the age of 102 , Mariangela Berritta passed away. On February 1st he had celebrated the important milestone.
Originally from Nughedu Santa Vittoria, she died in her native home where she lived with her daughter .
Tzia Mariangela at the age of 24 had married Celestino Cocco . The couple were both tailors. They had four daughters: Giuseppina, Maria, Fiorella and Piera . In 2001 she became a widow, suffering greatly from the lack of her husband.
Tzia Mariangela attended school up to the third grade in Nughedu Santa Vittoria, then she had to interrupt her studies to help around the house. Despite her age she was very lucid and active. Now the community will say goodbye to the over one hundred year old.
