With 96 points out of 100, the Cannonau di Sardegna Nudo 2023 wine, Doc Rosato di Siddùra, is the first place in the international competition reserved for rosé wines, the "50 Great Rosé Wines of the World Competition" 2024 in Barcelona.
The jury, after having blindly tasted the products from France, Portugal, Spain, Italy, Serbia and other countries, decreed that the best rosé in the world is a wine from the Luogosanto winery, in the heart of Gallura.
This is a significant recognition for Sardinian rosé also given the influence on the market that this type of vine has been having in recent years. According to data from the World Rosé Wine Observatory of the French Ministry of Agriculture, one in ten bottles of wine consumed is rosé.
The Cannonau grapes produced in the Siddùra vines and intended for rosé are selected in the field and harvested by hand during the harvest. A process as rigorous as it is delicate to obtain the characteristics that make this wine unique, in its aromas and colour.
«Attention during vinification is mainly aimed at enhancing the pink nuances of this wine, the result of a limited and delicate contact between the must and the Cannonau grape skins», explains Dino Dini, the winery's oenologist, «one of the characteristics main goal is to evoke the Mediterranean atmosphere with its complex bouquet, the vibrant freshness and the precious salinity of the wine".
This latest international recognition for the Siddùra winery adds to the over 760 awards won in wine competitions around the world.
