Lots of rain and some thunderstorms, little snow in the mountains, and falling temperatures. Christmas 2025 won't be a white one in Sardinia, but it will certainly be wet and cold.

According to meteorologists from the Italian Air Force's weather office, tomorrow marks the start of a week of worsening conditions across the island, starting in the south and then moving toward the central and northern regions. The situation will be variable throughout the Christmas and Boxing Day periods.

The first precipitation is expected to hit the southern coasts overnight, then the low pressure system will move further north, and on Christmas Eve the situation will remain the same, with moderate rain and thunderstorms. Snow will also return, but only above 1,200 meters, i.e., on the Gennargentu mountains. On Christmas Day, there will be some clear skies, but more rain will continue, especially on the eastern coast, with the low pressure system expected to spare northern Sardinia.

On the 26th, fresh precipitation will fall across the island, along with plummeting temperatures, with lows 4-5 degrees below zero and temperatures dropping to -2-3 degrees on the coast. Fog is also forecast in the morning in the valleys of southern Sardinia.
