No to the circus with animals in Cagliari . The online collection of signatures on Change.org took off in a few hours and has traveled fast towards a thousand signatures. In the late afternoon today there were 864, an increase of over 200 in an hour.

The promoter is Elisa Montaldo: «The activities in which they are forced to perform, as well as being totally contrary to the nature of these animals, are also dangerous for their safety. To learn how to do these activities, animals are mistreated», is the thesis, «For example, to teach elephants to stand up and stand on their hind legs, a red-hot iron is placed under the throat. Moreover, not infrequently the animals fall and get hurt during the exhibitions», we read.

The goal of the petition is to push the Municipality to issue a "regulation based on the Cities 2006 guidelines which prohibits the use of animals in danger of extinction or whose management model is incompatible with keeping them in a mobile structure such as, and in particular, dolphins, wolves, bears, big cats, seals, elephants, rhinoceroses, hippopotamuses, giraffes, birds of prey and all other animals listed".
