The big name of the New Year's Eve in Cagliari is that of Marco Mengoni .
At least that's what the municipal council unanimously decided: for the big concert, we read in the document, the winner of the last Sanremo Festival was identified as the singer "of national and international appeal whose name can attract the greatest number of people, citizens and tourists of all ages" .
The contract has not yet been signed: the Council has given a mandate to the Director of the Sport, Culture and Entertainment service to define the documents necessary for hiring the artist.
Winner of XFactor in 2009, Mengoni has triumphed twice at the Sanremo Festival: in 2013 and 2023 . Appreciated and loved by the most disparate age groups, Mengoni was the first Italian artist in the history of MTV to obtain a victory in the Best European Act of the "Mtv Europe Music Awards".
Concert and celebrations will be held in Piazza Paolo VI, for the people of Cagliari, Piazza dei Centomila : the area of Piazza Yenne – Largo Carlo Felice has been rejected due to construction sites, making it impossible to set up the stage due to space and safety issues.
