The Leopardi Theater of the lower secondary school, in via dei Partigiani in Pirri, will be the venue for the first public meeting in via dell'adozione del Puc, the Municipal Urban Plan of Cagliari. The appointment is for Thursday, October 10 at 6 pm, with the theme "The new PUC of Cagliari: let's build a city for everyone together" , in the first of a series of workshops held weekly. After the one in the institute, which has activated the Community Educational Pact since 2021, the next one will be on October 17 in the multipurpose room of the Monte Claro park. The meetings will all be on Thursdays and at 6 pm.

The plan will be made available to active citizens through the participation platform of the urban agency LABMET "LABoratorio METropolitano di innovazione" of the Metropolitan City of Cagliari . «For our administration, it is a priority», said Matteo Lecis Cocco Ortu, Councilor for Strategic, Urban and Environmental Planning, «to adapt the Puc to the Regional Landscape Plan (Ppr) and the Hydrogeological Asset Plan (Pai). For this reason, we are starting the participatory process of the Urban Ecology Laboratory that aims to inform citizens and stakeholders regarding the strategic choices contained in the plan for the development of Cagliari».

Councilor Lecis Cocco Ortu gives some previews of what the new Puc will be like: « It will have to give clear rules to those who want to invest in the city , activate processes of active involvement of citizens aimed at taking care of the community, address the ecological and energy transition, putting social justice and the climate crisis at the center to reduce territorial inequalities, stop land consumption, building speculation and respond to the housing emergency».
