New landing of migrants in southern Sardinia: the center of Monastir collapses, other structures are sought

The landings of migrants along the coasts of southern Sardinia do not stop.

In the last week a total of 240 have landed in Sardinia, and a good part is hosted in the center of Monastir is now full, so much so that another group has been diverted to the Burranca si Sinnai hotel. They are also looking for accommodation for others in other structures on the island.

The last landing dates back to the night between Tuesday and Wednesday: a small boat carrying 16 people was intercepted by the Guardia di Finanza off the coast of Sant'Antico. There was also a migrant on the boat who needed medical attention.

The boat was reached by the patrol boat and the migrants were rescued and transported to the port of Sant'Antioco. 15 were transferred to the first reception and rescue center in Monastir where they will remain in quarantine, while the person in need of treatment was transported to the hospital for the necessary treatment.
