Witnesses paraded this morning in the Assize Court in Cagliari in the trial against Claudio Gulisano , the 44-year-old accused of killing his parents Luigi Gulisano and Marisa Dessì , aged 79 and 82, in December 2024 in an apartment in the Quartiere del Sole in Cagliari .
Several people were interviewed before the court presided over by Judge Giovanni Massidda (with Roberto Cau as assistant judge) and Public Prosecutor Rossana Alleri. These included two friends of Luigi Gulisano who played cards with him , reportedly even doing so just hours before his murder; a friend to whom Luigi Gulisano had told about problems with his son, involving debts and requests for money; and the manager of the Unicredit Bank branch where the murdered couple had an account, but where the defendant also had one.
Two neighbors were also interviewed, including a key witness : the woman who reported to the police that she had seen her son leave the elderly couple's home . This important testimony helped investigators establish the defendant's exact whereabouts a few hours after the crime.
Claudio Gulisano , represented by Luigi Sanna, did not appear in court this morning, unlike previous hearings, apparently due to health issues. His brother Davide Gulisano, accompanied by Gianluca Aste, the lawyer representing the civil plaintiffs, was present.
The next hearing will be held on May 27th and will be a technical hearing to analyze the messages on the cell phone of Luigi Gulisano's friend, who was heard today . The phone apparently contains chats with both the victim and Claudio Gulisano. The 44-year-old faces charges of aggravated double homicide and computer fraud for withdrawing approximately €20,000 from his parents' accounts via online banking.
He allegedly killed his parents on December 4th of last year in their apartment on Via Ghibli by strangling and suffocating them. The motive, according to the prosecution, was financial: the 44-year-old wanted to inherit some properties to solve financial problems following the failure of the supermarket his father had donated.
