Lack of fire safety permit, malfunctioning fire-fighting water system, lack of automatic detection and extinguishing systems : these are the alleged deficiencies that, according to consultants from the Tempio Pausania Public Prosecutor's Office, had a significant impact on the disastrous fire at the Nautica Acqua shipyard in Olbia .

We are talking about the fire that at the end of April last year completely destroyed the warehouses of the Cala Saccaia company and around forty boats , with damages amounting to tens of millions of euros.

The prosecutor's consultants, Cagliari-based engineer Antonio Angelo Porcu and his Genoa-based colleague Federico Sommella, have submitted their findings. The investigation is targeting five individuals , represented by lawyers Stefano Oggiano, Sebastiano Giaquinto, Giuseppe Farris, Giampaolo Murrighile, Alberto Berardi, and Marco Petitta. The expert report indicates that the fire likely started in the electrical system, specifically the battery switch of a yacht inside the shed. However, the experts rule out that the vessel, owned by the Olbia-based company Maori, had technical problems caused by design or construction flaws. Therefore, the prosecution's case, according to the expert report, primarily concerns the shipyard's management practices and its alleged structural deficiencies . According to the experts , the disaster could have been avoided with the adoption of technical measures. The expert report also states that the firefighters' intervention was timely and appropriate.
