An argument followed a stabbing, all in the heart of Olbia, on the central Corso Umberto. The Carabinieri are investigating the dramatic incident, which involved a 42-year-old man, apparently of Apulian origins.

The person rescued this afternoon by 118 staff was transferred to the Emergency Room of the Giovanni Paolo II Hospital with very serious chest injuries, the blows reportedly hitting his heart and lungs several times.

The victim went into cardiac arrest; emergency room specialists in Olbia are trying to save the man found lying on the sidewalk in Corso Umberto shortly before 5 p.m.

The Carabinieri of the Olbia Territorial Unit have reportedly already pursued a specific investigative lead. They are searching for a person who may have been identified immediately after the stabbing: it appears—the conditional is mandatory at this stage—that he is a 30-year-old non-EU citizen. The stab wounds were apparently inflicted during an argument over trivial matters.

The serious bloody incident occurred a few meters from the Chinese restaurant where a few weeks ago, an Algerian had attacked the owner and stabbed several customers.
