A body of water (a sort of circle with a radius of twenty meters) in front of Ziu Franciscu beach, on the Muravera coast (Costa Rei area), has been closed with immediate effect following a citizen's report of several metal objects that may be unexploded ordnance. The measure was issued by the Commander of the Port Authority and the Maritime Directorate of Cagliari.

The objects were located at a depth of approximately 27 meters. The order will remain in effect until specialized bomb disposal personnel arrive to determine the nature of the finds and, if necessary, proceed with blasting and clearing the area.

As stated in the ordinance, anchoring and parking of any vessel, swimming, access to the area, scuba diving, fishing, and any other unauthorized activity related to the use of the sea are prohibited in the affected body of water. The restrictions will remain in effect until the area is fully secured, with the aim of preventing risks to swimmers, boaters, fishermen, and divers.

A ban which, in any case – given the narrowness of the body of water involved – does not interfere with the usability of the splendid Tziu Franciscu beach.
