"Next open day? Come and discover our new infiltrations." Because " the school is falling apart, but your promises are always new ." This was written in capital letters by the students of the Giordano Bruno-Luigi Einaudi high school and technical school in Muravera , who last Friday staged a civil protest march from the school to the central Piazza Europa. "We're not asking for the moon," explained Sofia Murrutzu, a high school student (fifth grade, humanities), "just a safe school."

Students running for school president , Michela Pili, Matilde Seu, and Federico Carta , illustrated the critical issues. These included deteriorating ceilings , a gym that floods every time it rains, damaged fixtures, and inadequate cleaning. And then there's the possible presence of asbestos in the courtyard behind the Technical Institute. Not to mention the high school auditorium, an unfinished project for over twenty years.

At the end of the procession, the students met with the mayor of Muravera, Francesca Mattana, and the majority and minority city councilors. "We have made a commitment to the students," the mayor emphasized, "to open discussions with the Metropolitan City of Cagliari and the Region of Sardinia. It will be essential to identify resources and proceed with the most urgent work within an appropriate timeframe."
