Countless blank sheets of paper scattered across the streets bear insults against the candidates on the list led by Mayor Ignazio Addari. They also insult him, calling him "a not-so-smart fox." The author also refers to the cogeneration plant, which was the focus of bitter protests years ago from residents and the Civic Committee for Health. .

The electoral climate in Simaxis is heating up. The discovery of the papers containing offensive and derogatory comments occurred this morning. Addari, who leads the "Simaxis Futura" list, is disappointed but determined to continue his campaign: "These are petty acts; we're obviously bothering someone. My candidates are all clean. Unfortunately, this isn't the first time this has happened. It's a low-level act, dirty volunteer work. This morning, when I held my son's hand, I first read and then tore everything up. I will continue my clean and transparent campaign."

The candidate councilors are Francesca Loddo, Nicola Serusi, Patrizia Sini, Daniela Piras, Anna Massidda, Michele Tatti, Paolo Matta, Fabrizio Cannea, Renzo Peddis, Giorgio Sardara, Alberto Tiddia, and Sebastiano Mereu.

Marco Mottura, candidate for the "Attivamente" list, also spoke out on the matter: "On behalf of myself and our group, I wish to express our sincerest solidarity with all those affected by this unfortunate incident. Although we belong to different political parties and have different ideas and agendas, we believe that political debate should always be conducted with respect for individuals, their dignity, and their civic commitment. Political criticism is legitimate; anonymous personal attacks are not. We condemn any form of personal delegitimization and any attempt to poison the climate of an election campaign, which should be a time for democratic debate and participation. We hope that these elections can continue to be conducted with mutual respect, fairness, and the exclusive interest of our community."

Outgoing mayor Giacomo Obinu, also a candidate, also weighed in: "I just learned about the attack, but I remember it's not the first time it's happened in Simaxis. I've been targeted several times in recent years, including my family. I wouldn't give these actions any weight."
