His music will try to fill the empty spaces. His guitar will be kept in the heart of those who loved him. Marco Perantoni, 70, singer-songwriter from Porto Torres, passed away in silence. He died during the night, due to a heart attack that struck him while he was sleeping.
For his colleagues, who accompanied him on his long musical journey, it was a privilege to share the stage with him. Many performances, many miles in contact with people. He took up the guitar with the same grace with which he offered a coffee, a hug, a greeting.
Whimsical, original and imaginative, Marco Perantoni was born as a singer in 1967 with the band Jolli. Then in his adolescence he chose to be part of the group “Antares Man”, with whom he shared several musical evenings. Over time he decided to embrace various cover groups, including the unforgettable GBH who accompanied him in his performances throughout Sardinia, stages and clubs that saw him as the protagonist in the role of drummer and singer.
In recent years he has dedicated himself entirely to his songs, spontaneous and incisive, with a certain taste for retro melody but with a particular attention to the new avant-garde of contemporary author music. His passing leaves a community, his city, his fellow musicians in disbelief. They cannot forget his desire to make plans, his irony, his smile and sincere kindness, authentic like his honesty in expressing an opinion. A caress for everyone, a rare thing, like his coherence in his many performances. "We wish you your best performance from up there. Bye Marco". It is just one of the many messages of condolence posted on social media. Marco Perantoni leaves behind his wife Franca.
