Promoting a region with great potential. This is the goal of the "Monte Arci Prize – Sounds, Knowledge, and Flavors of the Park and Obsidian," held in Morgongiori in the Ceas Auditorium.

The second edition of the initiative, promoted by the Management Consortium of the park of the same name, chaired by Mayor Paolo Pistis, with the support of the Regional Department of Tourism and the Fondazione di Sardegna, and in collaboration with the Municipality of Morgongiori, honored numerous personalities, institutions, and businesses from the local area, the island, and beyond the Tyrrhenian Sea.

"Following the success of the first edition," Mayor Paolo Pistis commented, "the event repeated its excellent performance, attracting large audiences thanks to a highly-comprehensive program that featured a large group of outstanding performers in three categories: sounds, knowledge, and flavors. Furthermore, special awards were given, including the Lorighittas d'Oro mention, to a non-Sardinian figure of international renown who can promote the famous Morgongiori pasta beyond the Tyrrhenian Sea and throughout the world through the prestige of his or her work."

The “Lorighittas d'Oro” award was given to Oscar Farinetti, entrepreneur, writer, and essayist, founder in 2007 of Eataly, the world's leading chain of Italian food restaurants and markets, now present in 17 countries with over 60 stores.

During the evening, hosted by journalist Incoronata Boccia, director of the Rai press office, Farinetti also presented his latest book, "The Rule of Silence," published by Bompiani, and was interviewed by Franco Mannoni.

In the "music" category, awards were given to Bianca Atzei, originally from Siamanna on her mother's side and Siris on her father's side, an established and highly successful singer-songwriter, and to the new Superintendent of the Teatro Lirico of Cagliari, Andrea Cigni, who has spearheaded an incredible rebirth of the island's most important cultural institution.

The "knowledge" category is structured. Among the awards presented, the new special prizes go to institutions, to the Sardinian Forestry and Environmental Protection Corps, headed by Gianluca Cocco; the award for the Forestas Regional Agency will be presented at a special event in December.

In the "sports" section, awards went to Alessia Orro, an athlete from Narbolia and Olympic volleyball champion, and Giuseppe Pes, the jockey known as "Il Pesse," a nine-time winner of the Palio di Siena. Awards also went to director, author, writer, and founder of the University of Aristanis, Filippo Martinez; Giuseppe Ignazio Loi, star of the film "La Vita va così"; visionary entrepreneur Lucina Cellino of the famous Sanluri family; Rosy Sgaravatti, the queen of plants, flowers, and gardens; Laura Asili; Alfredo Franchini; and Angelica Grivel Serra.

In the "Flavors" category, awards were given to world champion dairies "Sepi" from Marrubiu and "Cao Formaggi" from Fenosu , to Michelin-starred chef Salvatore Camedda, to agricultural entrepreneur Vittorio Signor, vice-president of the Cooperativa Produttori Arborea, to "Sa Marigosa" chaired by Paolo Mele, to Maria Francesca Serra, national president of Coldiretti Donne and a breeder, to the "Quartomoro" winery, and to the "Monte Onigu" estates, which received an encouraging mention for their courage in believing in the potential of the area by establishing a business after the dramatic period of Covid.
