Yet another episode of violence in Uta prison, where an inmate hit an officer with a violent headbutt .

The episode occurred while the policeman was beating the railings. A sudden gesture that took the officer by surprise, who immediately started losing a lot of blood and was taken to the emergency room for treatment.

«Once again a policeman is forced to abandon duty to go to the emergency room with his uniform soaked in blood», comments the general secretary of the Uil PA Penitentiary Police Michele Cireddu , underlining the «macabre and desolating situation in which the staff is forced to work in the Uta prison."

The attacks, he continues, " are occurring with worrying frequency, we are in the midst of an emergency and the alarm bells do not seem to be heard ." What measures has the administration implemented? What tools are available to staff to work safely and avoid physical damage? Nothing".

Indeed, he continues, "the staff continues to work below minimum levels" and this too "represents a serious risk for the physical and mental safety of the operators".
