Redevelopment work continues on Via Cesare Cabras , one of the most important projects affecting the city's traffic system . The construction site, which will cover the stretch up to just before Via della Conciliazione, is progressing toward completion, as scheduled by the Administration within six months. "We've encountered delays due to some overlapping sewer and stormwater flows. It was therefore necessary to evaluate, together with the company, the most suitable technical conditions to proceed. Furthermore, we will widen the sidewalks up to 150 centimeters to make them more accessible for people with disabilities. This is part of the objectives of the Plan for the Elimination of Architectural Barriers," explains Public Works Councilor Raffaele Nonnoi.

Among the projects completed in recent days is the planting of new trees, with jacarandas and Washingtonias that will characterize the street. This choice was also based on the hardiness of the selected species. "The choice was not accidental: these trees are resistant to attacks by the red palm weevil. Furthermore, we have already installed the irrigation system and the street lighting, which had been affected by the roots of the previous trees. The work is proceeding according to schedule," adds Nonnoi.

Mayor Tomaso Locci , however, focused on the project's impact on the area, particularly on merchants: "We understand, and regret, the inconvenience to businesses along the road. However, the work will ensure greater safety and benefits for the entire community."
