Investigations are underway in Cagliari to track down the car thief who yesterday stole a Ford Fusion in the capital, then crashing into a traffic light in Monserrato, finally escaping and losing his tracks.

Everything happened in less than two hours. The car, owned by a pensioner, was stolen shortly after 6 am. Shortly after 8, however, the end of the thief's race, who - perhaps due to high speed - lost control of the car crashing into the traffic light pole between via del Redentore and via Sorgono, in Monserrato.

After the impact, the man got out and fled. The traffic light hit by the car (which was damaged at the front) instead “lay down” on the light rail tracks and the traffic had to stop to allow the Arst technicians to intervene.

As mentioned, the military has started investigations to identify the person responsible.
