There were moments of apprehension this morning in Monserrato . Around 7 a.m., the overground subway train derailed while traveling on Via Virginia, very close to homes .

Residents report being alerted by a loud noise that preceded the accident. The vehicle was not full at the time, and fortunately, no passengers were injured .

The local police and workers appointed by ARST were on site to resolve the problem, the causes of which are yet to be ascertained but in any case cannot be attributed to bad weather .

Meanwhile, tram service on Metro Line 1 is reduced between Repubblica and Vesalio, and suspended between Vesalio and San Gottardo .
