A loud, thudding noise made residents look out their windows, then the surprise: three cars covered by a tree.

There was a huge scare this morning in Monserrato, in Piazza Giuliano . Around 11:45 a.m., a branch from one of the large carob trees in the square broke and fell on three parked vehicles, causing dents. However, no cars were completely destroyed, and fortunately, no one was in the car at the time, so no injuries were reported.

Firefighters responded to the scene, but then left due to another emergency, and local police officers from Monserrato, along with workers from the cooperative that manages public green spaces, worked to remove the branch.

Meanwhile, the Municipality is currently investigating the cause of the branch's collapse —specifically, whether the carob tree was diseased—given the low wind conditions.
