The judiciary has ordered the return to the family of the body of Leonardo Mocci, the 23-year-old bricklayer killed during the night between Wednesday and Thursday in Piazza Settimio Severo in Monserrato.

Following the post-mortem examination carried out by coroner Roberto Demontis, the judge has now authorised the funeral, with the rite to be held on Monday afternoon in the church of Santa Barbara in Villacidro , the town of the victim and her family.

The autopsy confirmed that the young man was hit by a shot from a large-caliber pistol, fired at close range, with the bullet hitting his heart, causing almost immediate death.

The investigation into the incident is being carried out by the Carabinieri of the Quartu Operations Unit, the Monserrato Station, and the Cagliari Provincial Command, who have now pieced together the dramatic story. The investigation is being conducted through the examination of images from several municipal security cameras placed in the crime scene, as well as through interviews, confrontations, and the collection of testimonies. The RIS investigations conducted in the crime scene in the hours following Mocci's death were also crucial. Investigators are currently maintaining complete secrecy regarding the investigation's progress. However, the investigation appears to be truly at a turning point.
