Mocci murder in Monserrato, DNA evidence: the three suspects were at the crime scene.

The three suspects in Leonardo Mocci's murder were present at the crime scene. Following investigators' reconstruction of the crime, based on witness statements and other evidence, scientific confirmation has also arrived: the DNA of Daniel Campus, 22, from Quartu, and of the Cagliari brothers Gianmarco and Filippo Tunis, aged 23 and 19, was found in cigarette butts recovered by Carabinieri from the Cagliari investigative unit in the hours following Mocci's killing. The DNA match was performed by Carabinieri from the Cagliari RIS.

Not only that. There are other profiles to compare to identify the fourth member of the gang who allegedly organized the robbery that ended in tragedy on the night between April 22nd and 23rd in Piazza Settimio Severo , Monserrato.

The latest development in the investigation into the murder of a young bricklayer from Villacidro, killed by a gunshot, comes on the day of questioning: Campus and the Tunis brothers , the former represented by lawyers Alberto Pani and Francesca Mannai, the latter by lawyer Riccardo Floris, appeared before Judge Claudia Sechi . All three exercised their right to remain silent. Campus, however, made spontaneous statements, clarifying his position, but the content of his statements has not been disclosed. Floris, the lawyer, has announced an appeal to the Court of Appeal due to the alleged illogicality of the pre-trial detention order.

The presence of the three suspects in front of the building at number 3 Piazza Settimio Severo had already been reconstructed by the Carabinieri of the Cagliari investigative unit and their colleagues from the unit thanks to several testimonies, particularly that of Campus and Gianmarco Tunis. There were clues regarding the younger brother. Now, DNA testing confirms their presence in that square, even though numerous cigarette butts were analyzed and could have been discarded at different times.

The investigation, coordinated by prosecutors Enrico Lussu and Diana Lecca, still needs to provide answers: the fourth member of the gang needs to be identified , who pulled the trigger, killing the 23-year-old bricklayer from Villacidro with a single shot, and whether there were two armed men, as alleged in the pre-trial detention order. The reconstruction of the crime seems clear: Mocci and his friend Filippo Frau were lured into the trap with a fake drug sale at a convenient price, 10,000 euros . According to investigators, Campus organized the meeting to rob the two buyers. Then three hooded youths took action: two, according to the investigation coordinated by the Prosecutor's Office, are thought to be the Tunis brothers. One remains to be identified. And, as reported by several witnesses and also by Frau, there were two armed men : one of heavy build, the other thinner, wearing a particularly large jacket. No guns were found. Then the attack and the robbery took place. Frau fled while Mocci, who intervened to help his friend, was killed with a gunshot to the heart.
