Another significant delay, this time of approximately eight hours, has hit the Moby Wonder, which departed Porto Torres on Saturday evening and arrived at Genoa port this afternoon at 3:00 PM . A mechanical failure on the ferry operating on the Genoa-Porto Torres route last Friday forced the company to cancel two trips , leaving the port without connections to the Ligurian port.
This evening, in fact, due to the ongoing technical problem, the Moby ferry will not depart from Genoa, and passengers will be re-routed to the Livorno-Olbia ferry , departing this evening at 10:00 PM. On Monday the 16th, the ship will cast off from Olbia to head for Livorno. Passenger protests were immediate. The crossing from Genoa to Porto Torres was delayed by more than three hours, which, when added to the departure delay, reached seven hours. This morning, some passengers also complained of inconvenience due to the slow speed of the ferry, which arrived eight hours after the scheduled time. The Genoa Port Authority will carry out an inspection to determine the cause of the mechanical failure. The situation will return to normal by Tuesday, March 17th .
