Bad weather is disrupting connections between the northwestern island port and Liguria . Strong mistral winds forced the captain of the Moby Aki, which departed from the port of Genoa on Friday evening and was headed for Porto Torres, to change course and head towards Olbia.
This morning, the Moby Aki arrived at the port of Olbia at 7:30 a.m., from where it will depart this evening for the Ligurian port. The company has guaranteed a full refund for passengers who cancelled their trip.
The Corsica Ferries, the only ship in port, docked this morning in Porto Torres. The port is currently undergoing construction on the Western Bulwark, an infrastructure project that, once completed, will allow incoming and outgoing vessels to maneuver safely and sheltered from the wind.
