Mistral and fires, a day of fire in Sardinia: Canadair and Super Puma in flight
Numerous fronts, the biggest fire in San Nicolò d'Arcidano: helicopters in action also in Siliqua, Sestu, Nurri and SeuiDifficult day on the fire front in Sardinia. The aerial vehicles and ground teams of the firefighting service are engaged in numerous interventions in various parts of the island : all operations are made more complex by the strong mistral wind that has been blowing since this morning, with ever greater intensity.
The biggest fire started in the area of San Nicolò d'Arcidano , in the province of Oristano, in the locality of S'Acqua Bianca: in support of two helicopters that took off from Fenosu and Sorgono, the intervention of the SuperPuma helicopter was also requested a Canadair that took off from Olbia.
Flames also in Ogliastra, in Girasole, and teams also engaged in Siliqua, Giba (this morning), Sestu (in the video) and Nurri (Cantoniera locality) where helicopters are also at work.
UPDATE. The intervention of a Canadair was also requested in Seui, along State Road 198 towards Lanusei: the flames are not far from the houses on the eastern outskirts of the town.
