After the controversy, the bill presented by the Brothers of Italy and which The bill, which aimed to change the military code by strengthening the state's exclusive jurisdiction over military areas, has been withdrawn. The news was announced by the regional coordinator of the FdI party, Francesco Mura.
"The bill under debate is being withdrawn ," he said in a statement. "It is a clear, unequivocal choice, consistent with the principles that have always guided the actions of the Brothers of Italy . The environmental well-being of Sardinia comes before any other need . Without ambiguity."
"The voice of the territory represents an essential beacon for us ," Mura continues, "from which no one can or should deviate, especially when dealing with sensitive issues such as the protection of our environmental and landscape heritage, which certainly doesn't need to be talked about, but rather defended with seriousness and responsibility."
"Once again," Mura further clarifies, "an attempt has been made to fuel a controversy when, in fact, the Brothers of Italy's position has always been clear: listening to the local communities, respecting their communities, and paying the utmost attention to environmental protection. The decision to withdraw the proposal demonstrates in practice what others try to convey with words: we always choose the best interests of Sardinia. On behalf of the Sardinian parliamentarians of the Brothers of Italy, I thank the group leader, Galeazzo Bignami, for taking this decision, once again confirming his attention, sensitivity, and respect for the needs of the local communities."
All the parties in the Campo Largo party on the island, including Regional President Alessandra Todde, had spoken out against the Brothers of Italy proposal. Indeed, 66 percent of Italy's easements are located on the island, and the measure would have completely silenced the Region in its demands for environmental and health protection.
