The fate of dozens of migrants who have been stranded outside the Olbia maritime station since Saturday is tied to the ferry captain's decisions.
These are people transferred from the reception center in Monastir, but for purely bureaucratic reasons they were not allowed to board the ferries to Civitavecchia-Livorno on Saturday evening.
Many spent their third night outside the White Island ferry terminal. Some ferry captains decided to take on board people who claimed they were heading to various European countries.
The situation is dire from a humanitarian perspective, as the migrants have no support whatsoever, and on Saturday, Olbia's civil protection organizations, the city administration of the Gallura town, and the Red Cross were not notified.
Some of the migrants have already departed, while the others are waiting to hear the ferry captains' decisions. The problem, purely bureaucratic, is the migrants' identification documents.
