A total of 25 migrants have arrived on the Sulcis coast in the last few hours . A figure that however seems destined to grow in the coming days given the good sea conditions.

The first 14 arrived this morning on the beach of Porto Pino in Sant'Anna Arresi : intercepted in the parking lot by the carabinieri of the Santadi station and transferred to the first reception center in Monastir. Eleven, instead, arrived at the commercial port of Sant'Antioco around 5 pm, after being stopped off the coast of the island of Toro.

The group on board a wooden boat, tracked down by the Guardia di Finanza of Sant'Antioco, was made to board the patrol boat, while the vessel, containing numerous cans of fuel, was towed to shore .

It cannot be ruled out that some migrants, cold and wet, fell into the water before being intercepted. Frontex agents and the 118 health personnel of Avas of Sant'Antioco, who carried out the first checks, welcomed them on shore. Meanwhile, the civil protection Assosulcis of Sant'Antioco brought dry and clean clothing.

The group was then accompanied by the Carabinieri to the centre of Monastir.
