Metropolitan City of Sassari: "Alghero at a standstill, Sorso and Uri each elect two councilors."

"Alghero remains at a standstill," commented Forza Italia National Councilor Marco Tedde, following the results of the Sassari Metropolitan City Council elections, which saw the election of only one Forza Italia councilor from Alghero, Nina Ansini.
"This result," Tedde emphasizes, "on the one hand fills us with satisfaction, confirming Forza Italia's roots in the city and the surrounding area, despite being an opposition force. On the other, it portrays a sense of weakness in Alghero's politics."
According to Tedde, the fifteen majority councilors of Campo Largo, including Mayor Cacciotto, "despite having the numbers to elect two authoritative representatives like Bamonti and Piccone, failed to achieve any results. Therefore, there is little to celebrate." The Forza Italia representative expresses strong concern about the city's poor representation in the new Metropolitan Council. The risk, Tedde explains, is that Alghero will be relegated to a subordinate role despite being the second largest city with strategic infrastructure such as a port and airport. "Much smaller municipalities like Sorso and Uri managed to elect two councilors each, thus ensuring a more solid and effective representation."
