"This government and the center-right parliamentarians must be flushed out. They must stop looking the other way when it suits them." These are the words that, according to a question presented to the Regional Council of Brothers of Italy, were written to mayors and local administrators by the commissioner of the Province of Oristano Battista Ghisu. A complaint, it seems, linked to the cut in funds for road maintenance. Unacceptable expressions, for the Sardinian representatives of Giorgia Meloni's party, if attributed to a commissioner who holds a "non-elective position, by its nature temporary and without popular legitimacy" that must be exercised "within the limits of the technical attributions provided for by current legislation, in compliance with administrative neutrality and impartiality."

For the centre-right councillors, those statements are "offensive and inappropriate, they are completely extraneous to the technical skills of the role covered and are configured as a clear and inadmissible interference in political spheres, assuming a biased and instrumental tone, in clear contrast with the impartiality that must characterise the work of an appointed commissioner".

In speaking of a "serious episode of political exploitation", FdI asks the President of the Region, Alessandra Todde, and the regional councilor for Local Authorities, Francesco Spanedda, "whether they deem it appropriate, in light of the seriousness of the statements made, to evaluate the revocation of the commissionership of Dr. Ghisu, so that he can, as a free citizen, legitimately dedicate himself to his political militancy, restoring to the institutions that neutrality and sobriety which are essential conditions for the proper functioning of democracy".
