A massive seizure of over 1,500 – to be precise 1,556 – counterfeit toys was made at Cagliari's Porto Canale.
The joint operation by the Customs and Monopolies Agency and the Guardia di Finanza intercepted a significant shipment of irregular goods, preventing their sale and safeguarding the economic interests of the copied brands and the safety of consumers.
The seized products, held by unknown persons, are of Chinese origin and were headed to Tunis. They were counterfeits of well-known and important international brands such as Spider-Man, Avengers, Barbie, Hello Kitty, Paw Petrol, and Lego.
Given the products' intended use by children and minors, the lack of compliance guarantees and regulatory controls could pose a safety risk to young consumers.
