Beauty becomes a tool for social inclusion in the new Sardinian stage of Miss Universe, the famous competition born in the United States in 1952 and today committed to renewing its meaning beyond aesthetic canons.
After Iglesias, the event arrives in Marrubiu, bringing with it not only elegance and spectacle, but also a strong social message: breaking down every barrier, valorizing all forms of diversity.
Melissa Vargiu and Alessia Fonsatti, two young deaf competitors originally from Marrubiu, will fully embody this spirit .
They will take the stage to demonstrate that disability is not an obstacle to personal fulfillment and dreams. "I want to make people understand that, even if we are deaf, we can live a normal life like everyone else," said Melissa. For Alessia, the occasion represents the realization of a childhood wish: "I am living a dream I had as a child. It is important to make people understand that even those who cannot hear can live a full and happy life."
The event, organized by Alessia Ghisoni and Cinzia Murgia of Events, Sardinian entrepreneurs and sole owners of the Miss Universe Sardegna brand, thus confirms its desire to transform the competition into a platform that celebrates beauty as a universal expression, no longer exclusive but inclusive.
"This year we wanted to give the competition a concrete social aspect," explain the organizers, "opening the doors to all those women who fight every day to assert their normality."
The evening will once again be hosted by well-known television personality Anthony Peth, accompanied by Luciana Ledda, a LIS interpreter, who will assist the presenter in an unprecedented co-hosting with simultaneous translation into sign language.
Bringing color and lightness to the stage will be the "godfather" of the evening, the artist Bob Marongiu, defined as "neo happy pop", whose paintings express an exuberant joy, capable of involving audiences of all ages.
The mayor of Marrubiu, Luca Corrias, enthusiastically welcomed the arrival of the event, underlining the importance of the message it conveys: «In addition to enriching the offer of summer events in the country, Miss Universe sends a strong message: the need for a truly inclusive society, where everyone feels an active part of the community».
