A serious accident occurred shortly before midnight in Maracalagonis: the car carrying a local couple—Giuseppe Zicca and Giuseppina Coro, 31— ended up in a pothole about five meters deep at a road construction site. The couple were transported with critical conditions to the Santissima Trinità and Policlinico hospitals. Fortunately, their injuries are not in danger.
The vehicle was traveling along the SP15 toward the 125 and continued on, knocking down the fences surrounding the construction site. The ditch, dug for a cable, was located there. The car became trapped inside.
The intervention of the firefighters was necessary to recover the two injured people, who entrusted them to the care of the 118 operators.
The surveys were carried out by the Carabinieri of the Quartu Mobile Radio Unit and the Maracalagonis station.
