Saved thanks to an anti-choking maneuver carried out by two teachers: the tragedy, involving a fifth-grade boy, was averted at the Manzoni school in Maracalagonis.

Mayor Francesca Fadda is recounting the episode, with the permission of the little boy's parents: this is another way they want to thank those who saved their child's life.

"That small morsel of bread, which can happen to anyone, went down the wrong way and was impeding the child's breathing," explains the mayor, "who promptly received appropriate treatment from the two teachers, to whom the parents extend special thanks today."

The rescuers are called Marisa and Laura: they performed "a timely and professional intervention".

The promptness and competence, Fadda adds, "demonstrate that our entire school staff at Maracalagonis is always ready to intervene in emergency situations, ensuring the safety and well-being of the students. I personally extend my thanks to the child's parents," he concludes, "for sharing their gratitude and recognizing the value of the teachers' work."
