The investigations of the detectives of the Flying Squad are focusing on the last hours of life of Manuela Murgia, the sixteen-year-old found dead on February 5, 1995 in the Tuvixeddu canyon. The investigative checks have been divided into two activities: on the one hand, the checks of the Scientific Police on the clothing, looking for biological elements useful for the extraction of DNA; on the other, the examination of various witnesses already heard at the time of the discovery of the body and who could report, now after many years, useful information to understand what the young girl did before being found dead.

The family's appeal

"Speak." This is the appeal launched by the family of the sixteen-year-old (assisted by lawyers Giulia Lai and Bachisio Mele), on the social page "Giustizia per Manuela Murgia." "Speak before it's too late. Because inside you... you're already talking," we read in a long post published online, "The voice digs into you from within. It's not ours. It's hers. It's Manuela. That doesn't let you sleep. That knocks on the center of your chest every time you close your eyes."

Manuela Murgia

The family members are speaking directly to those who were with the sixteen-year-old on the night of the young girl's death. The photo is eloquent, three people carrying Manuela's body. "You did it. You looked at me. You knew me. You betrayed me," the text continues. "The broken screams. The shaking hands. You weren't alone. And you know it. You feel it even now. That breath next to you, as you read, isn't the wind. It's the memory that chews you alive. Do you remember that hole to the right of the gate? Of course you remember it. That night it wasn't dark enough to hide the evil you brought with you. You put it in the trunk. You closed it with Manuela. You dragged her. You felt the weight of her body that was still reacting. You understood that she was alive. And yet, you continued. You chose. And now your mind is the true place of the crime."
