Cans, glass bottles, paper, and empty cigarette packets are abandoned every morning in front of the entrance to Mandas Town Hall, while the trash cans remain empty. This is the scene that has made Mayor Umberto Oppus lose his patience, and he's ready to sign an ordinance prohibiting parking and sitting on the steps of the Town Hall and in the square behind it.

The measure comes after discussions with city councilors and the organization's staff, who are forced to clean the areas daily after nighttime incursions.

"No one would like to have their living room full of empty cans or discarded bottles. This town doesn't belong to the mayor or the administrators, it belongs to everyone," the mayor maintains, urging families and residents to avoid controversy over a problem that affects the entire community.

In recent weeks, right in the center of the upper Trexenta area, the municipality filed a complaint with the Carabinieri after finding bags of abandoned waste. Inside, letters and copies of documents were also found, material handed over to the police to help them track down those responsible. It's enough to make you lose patience.
