Mayor Umberto Oppus, who for the fourth time in a few weeks has filed a new complaint, also requesting the Prefect's urgent intervention, denounced the situation. "After such a long period of internet failure, the damage to the local economy and the daily lives of my citizens is evident," he wrote. The outage affects several private households and businesses in the town. The consequences for businesses are particularly severe: POS terminals are non-functional, making it impossible to accept electronic payments, while the electronic transmission of tax receipts to the Revenue Agency is also blocked.

The disruption also affects dozens of families living in various areas of Mandas. According to the municipal administration, the problem is caused by flooded cables. The mayor is urging an immediate solution, even a temporary one, pending structural repairs. "Temporary solutions can also be set up in 2026 to resolve the problem while the structural work is completed," Oppus emphasizes.
