Man scratches SUV out of "envy," but owner's son is inside: reported

He parked the car next to a high-end SUV . Then—apparently for no reason, just out of envy—he started scratching its side with a key .

However, he did not notice that the son of the SUV's owner was inside the passenger compartment, and he immediately got out, stopped him, and alerted the police.

It happened this morning – Saturday – in Quartu Sant'Elena.

The officers, arriving on the scene, took witness statements and determined that the man— a 64-year-old worker —had no knowledge of the SUV's owner. His act was gratuitous, perhaps prompted, as mentioned, by simple envy over the vehicle's value.

In the end, the 64-year-old was reported after being identified.
