During the unloading operations of motor vessels arriving at the port of Gallura, the financial police of the Olbia Group arrested a 54-year-old man from the province of Naples , who was found in possession of a significant quantity of drugs, in flagrante delicto on charges of drug trafficking.

The Guardia di Finanza (Fuel Police) operation began during checks on vehicles and passengers disembarking from the Moby Orli vessel arriving from Genoa. These checks were significantly intensified ahead of the weekend and in conjunction with the festivities for San Simplicio, the city's patron saint.

Among these, particular attention was paid to the driver of a small car, whose nervous demeanor, combined with his evasive answers regarding the reason for his trip, aroused suspicion in the officers, who decided to proceed with a more thorough check with the assistance of dog units.

Following a tip-off from drug-sniffing dogs Dante and Semia , who were particularly "attracted" by the vehicle, the officers proceeded to carry out a more thorough search, at the end of which they discovered, cleverly hidden inside the passenger compartment, approximately one and a half kilos of vacuum-sealed hashish.

The substance, divided into three blocks and around a hundred ovules ready for sale, could have generated profits of over 15,000 euros.

At the end of the operation, the man was arrested and placed at the disposal of the judicial authorities, while the narcotics and the car were seized.
