Nearly seven thousand people were identified in Cagliari and its hinterland during the months of July and August by law enforcement during checks against the nightlife and during roadblocks on roads and sensitive locations set up by the Police Chief at the beginning of the summer.
The Police Headquarters itself draws up the budget, which also lists the data of the services carried out by the Police, Carabinieri, Guardia di Finanza and Local Police in the neighborhoods of the historic center and beyond, especially in the evening and night hours and on weekends.
And there was no shortage of sanctions: about ten establishments were fined for selling alcohol to minors, while another five were closed due to problems related to public order and safety.
There were also numerous arrests and reports, for resisting and threatening a public official, drunk driving and also for dangerous explosions. Furthermore, the Police Chief issued 10 oral warnings, 3 mandatory expulsion orders, 3 warnings for stalking and 3 for domestic violence.
«Great importance – the Police Headquarters also explains – was given to the phenomenon of “multi-ethnic youth gangs”, often responsible for episodes of petty crime: on a couple of occasions, the minors were entrusted back to the families summoned to the Police Headquarters».
