The winds of mobilization are blowing strongly in the healthcare sector. This is in the face of a severe shortage of healthcare, paramedical, technical, and administrative personnel, which risks leaving the new and recently renovated facilities of the Nuraghe Ruju outpatient clinic, such as the Community House and the two floors of the building, unused. There is also the need for continuous environmental and health monitoring in preparation for the start-up of the Tossilo waste-to-energy plant, including, in particular, the activation of a tumor registry and the strengthening of emissions controls. These are the points once again emphasized by the Marghine Health Protection Committee, in the aftermath of the major regional demonstration held in Cagliari last Saturday. These points were also reiterated before the regional leadership by the Committee's top representatives, such as Francesco Nieddu and Rosanna Carboni. Francesco Nieddu also emphasized the urgency of structured and coordinated prevention, calling for the regional center for prevention and health promotion to become fully operational through an integrated three-year plan and widespread services throughout the region. During the meeting, attended by senior representatives of the Marghine Committee, all the problems affecting healthcare in the Marghine area were detailed. The Committee itself appeared satisfied with the broad and enthusiastic response from Marghine residents to the regional demonstration. Hence, the launch of a new mobilization. "We hope," a statement from the Committee states, "that, precisely because of their role as primary representatives of our communities, the mayors will be at the forefront of the mobilization and commitment to revitalizing public healthcare, overcoming understandable moments of fatigue."
