They peacefully occupied the council chamber, in an attempt to bring about a turning point in the long-standing dispute . They are the 25 workers of Tossilo Spa , employed by the company that manages the Tossilo waste platform, who, without intervention from the Region, after December 31, risk being left without work and without a salary , with dramatic consequences for their families.
The first act of the protest took place this morning in the town hall of Macomer . So much so that the echo reached Cagliari, reaching the president of the Region, Alessandra Todde, who called a meeting (inter-departmental table for Tossilo), for Tuesday at 2:30 pm , in the presidency office of viale Trento, which will be attended by the councilors for the environment Rosanna Laconi, for industry, Emanuele Cani, for labor, Desirè Manca, as well as representatives of the workers and the union, therefore the mayors of Macomer and Borore.
On the agenda was the update of the procedures in progress regarding the waste-to-energy plant and the start-up of the composting plant. This would allow the return to work of the 25 workers , who after December 31 risk being left without a job and without a salary. Led by the Cgil, the workers met with the municipal council, some opposition councilors and the mayors of Silanus and Noragugume, as well as the president of the provincial industrial consortium of Nuoro, Gianni Pitorra.
"It's the beginning of the real mobilization - says the leader of the Cgil, Pietro Mulargiu - now let's see what happens in the meeting on Tuesday. It is certain that we will sell our skin dearly. We fight with dignity, despite the total indifference shown by the people and other categories of workers".
Toto Listo, spoke on behalf of the municipal administration: «We are alongside the workers for their sacrosanct requests, but we ask the Region that, together with the start-up of the plants and the return to work of the employees of Tossilo Spa, there is a comprehensive development program for the entire industrial area, for the community of Macomer and the territory».
