Reservations have all been cancelled. They came from tourist agencies in half of Europe. The Green Train, after skipping the spring season, now remains stationary throughout the summer. This is because fires and natural disasters have damaged the tourist line between Macomer and Bosa and the structure, despite promises, has not yet been restored.

The section between Tresnuraghes and Bosa has been inactive since the summer of 2021, when a major fire had destroyed around 4,000 wooden sleepers. The restoration works, after two years, are still in progress. Last spring, a storm seriously damaged about two kilometers of line near Macomer. Again, no construction site has been opened so far.

«We lose and the whole territory loses - says Rossana Muroni, president of the Esedra cooperative - the reservations, conquered with difficulty, by participating in the fairs in Milan, Cagliari and Alghero, have all been cancelled. So we lose another season ». The losses are huge, not only on the part of the cooperative which manages the journeys on the green train on behalf of Arst, but also for the entire territory, therefore in related industries. "The problem is that no one tells us what to do - adds Rossana Muroni - we are at the mercy of the waves and it also seems that our little green train does not enjoy the attention of the institutions". The Green Train is an important resource for the tourist development of the area, Marghine and Planargia. "We ask Arst to immediately restore the damaged sections and sensitize the Region to the problem that is besetting the entire territory".
