The former state road 131, the main entrance to Macomer and connection to the industrial area of Tossilo, was reopened yesterday after 20 days. The road, belonging to the Province of Nuoro, had been closed due to a 100 meter long landslide in the Sirigone area. It has been reopened with alternating one-way traffic, regulated by a traffic light.

This is a stopgap intervention, with the arrangement of the so-called new jersey (concrete artefacts), while waiting for the necessary funds to be found for the construction of a retaining wall, to contain the entire landslide front, which risks invading the roadway . This intervention will not be possible to carry out in the short term, firstly because the Province does not have the necessary funds and because a request for funding from the Region will have to be made. Five kilometers of road, where landslides often occur, especially during the rainy period.

Not only the former 131 for Tossilo, but all the provincial roads around Macomer are in precarious conditions, in particular the one that leads from Macomer towards the state road 131, towards Sassari and towards Bosa. The municipal administration urges definitive interventions in the serious situation in a short time, to avoid the isolation of the town.
