The Community Hospital will soon be an important facility for the entire region. The regional council has resolved: Marghine will have its own community hospital, which will immediately be located on the fourth floor of the Nuraghe Ruju outpatient clinic and in the facility currently under construction next door.

Macomer, therefore, is poised to play a key role in local healthcare and in the province of Nuoro. Indeed, with a resolution approved on April 8th, the Region included the Macomer Community Hospital among the facilities funded by the National Recovery and Resilience Plan (NRRP). Absent from the previous regional planning, the Macomer Community Hospital has now been fully included in the current Regional Government's plan, effectively revitalizing the town's role as a key healthcare hub for the wider region.

"This is a long-awaited and crucial step for the future of healthcare in our area," the Marghine Health Committee wrote in a statement. "We recognize that this result is the fruit of the united mobilization of Marghine and the collaboration between the District, the Local Health Authority, mayors, the Union of Municipalities, and citizens. Now it is essential that the Nuoro Local Health Authority proceeds quickly with the selection of furnishings, equipment, and systems, so as to meet the deadlines set by the National Recovery and Resilience Plan (PNRR). The Committee will continue to monitor and support all initiatives necessary to ensure adequate healthcare services for our communities."

Macomer Mayor Riccardo Uda added: "The decision by President and Councilor Alessandra Todde is a step in the right direction, promoting and investing in community healthcare and meeting the needs of the region. Including Macomer in the regional network is also the result of ongoing dialogue between the Municipality, the Union of Municipalities, the Region, and the Nuoro Local Health Authority. The directors who have served over the years, after listening to Macomer's needs, have understood the important role its healthcare facility can play in providing social and health services for the benefit of a wider community. After years of difficulties that have seen the Macomer Social and Health District lose its role, the creation of the Community Hospital promises to restore its leading role in providing healthcare services to a wider community."
